Short overview of the Research Master in Business: Accounting track
Extend the boundaries of the field by incorporating insights from adjacent areas such as finance, management, linguistics, and the behavioral sciences rather than only making incremental technical improvements. Become an integral part of the Accountancy department and benefit from the many workshops, conferences, and visitors and overall lively, informal but intellectual culture.
Prepare yourself for a PhD in Accounting
With two years of graduate level coursework and research training:
- First year: training in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics to get a strong foundation in economic and econometric theory and methods.
- Second year: profoundly explore core accounting research areas: managerial and financial accounting. Choose some elective courses from other business and economics areas.
- PhD: spend the next three years completing a dissertation under the supervision of two faculty members.
