Rugby
Rugby, the number one student sport in the Netherlands. The game is fast, hard, tactical but mostly a lot of fun. There is no sport that creates a bond like rugby does. The great part about rugby is that it does not matter if you’re tall, short, fat or skinny because for every body type there is a position in rugby. To fight for the win side by side with your mates every week is the most beautiful thing there is.
Besides that, the student rugby culture is full of traditions and customs, something that makes the sport very special.
Association
The student rugby association is Tarantula, which has enthusiastically revived the sport in Tilburg and quickly established a team to be reckoned with, made up of both experienced players and relative beginners. The services of an expert coach have been retained so that the team can hold its own in the competitions organized by the Netherlands Rugby Federation (NRB).
Interested? Tarantula extends a warm welcome to all, regardless of level or experience. The only requirement is that you can take the occasional knock: rugby is a fair game but very physical. NB, at present we have only a men's team.
Tarantula also organizes various social activities. Come along, and bring your friends!
