Purchasing a sports membership

Would you like to use the Sports Center's sports facilities? The Sports Center offers different memberships, ranging from a day pass to an annual membership. We hope to see you soon at the Sports Center!

Are you studying at Tilburg University, Fontys or Avans? 

  • Make sure you have a Sports Account. When creating this membership, you will receive a free Try Out membership. This membership allows you to use the facilities for free twice.
  • Afterwards, it is possible to buy a membership online.

Access to the Sports Center is by scanning a QR code:

  • Download the app “Sports Center Tilburg Access” in the Google Play Store or Apple Store
  • Press “scan” and scan the presented QR code.
  • The app shows a green area next to a valid sports membership.

In addition, you can use the finger scan to gain access to the Sports Center. To be able to do so, you need to have your finger scanned (during the day) at the front office. Please note that access with a finger scan is only possible at our indoor accommodation.

Use of locker

You can use a locker with a PIN code. You can also use a locker by means of a finger scan. For this, you need to have your finger scanned at the front desk. This can be done daily between 09:00 - 16:00.

Retired employees of Tilburg University

Retired employees of Tilburg University may buy a sports membership for the employee rate. To apply for this, please come to the frontoffice of the Sports Center. The Front Office staff will check the system to see if you are actually retired. If all details are correct, you can purchase the membership. Do not forget to bring an identification card.

Note: Employees who left the university have no right to the Tilburg University sports membership.

Alumni of Tilburg University/Fontys/Avans

Alumni may buy a sports membership until the fifth year after graduation. In the first year after graduation they may sport at the student rate, from the second year after graduation they pay the maximum rate.

If you already had a sports profile when studying, you will keep this profile. The price category and the email address will be altered (one year after your graduation date) in the personal sports profile.

The Front Office staff can create a new sports account for you. Please come to the frontoffice and make sure you bring:

  • A form of identification
  • A copy of your degree/diploma

You can pay for the membership by debit card or in the web shop.

You won't need to visit the frontoffice again if you want to renew your alumnus sports membership next year. You can extend your membership via your sports profile.

Students of other Dutch universities

The Front Office staff can create a new sports account for you. Please come to the frontoffice and make sure you bring:

  • A form of identification
  • Up-to-date proof of enrollment in the university

You can pay for the membership by debit card or in the webshop.

If you would like to renew your membership next year, but you attend a different Dutch university, you will have to drop at the frontoffice again to provide valid proof of enrollment in the university.

Three months for free

If you are a student at another Dutch university, and you have a valid (year) sports membership at that university, you may sport for free during three contiguous months.

Attention: You can only apply for this service once, during one academic year (September-September).

This procedure only applies to students of the universities of Groningen, Twente, Utrecht, Wageningen, Amsterdam (VU en UvA), Leiden, Delft, Nijmegen, Eindhoven. Maastricht en Rotterdam.

How to obtain:

Please go to the frontoffice of the Sports Center and prove that you are actually studying at a Dutch university (by logging in to the online student environment). You must also be able to prove that you have a valid sports right at the sports center of your university. You can do this by:

  • Showing a bank transfer that clearly shows it concerns sports right (1 year) for your university or
  • Showing a written proof, prepared by the administration of the sports center of your university, declaring that you have sports right and for which period.

If everything is in order you will receive the three month free membership.

Note: additional conditions may apply at other Dutch university sports centers!

Other

The following groups may purchase a subscription for the maximum rate:

  • Employees of Tilburg University institutes and related companies
  • PhDs from other Dutch universities
  • Students at Dutch Universities of Applied Sciences (other than Fontys Universities of Applied Sciences and Avans Universities of Applied Sciences) that fall under the Regulation Wet op het hoger onderwijs en wetenschappelijk onderzoek (Dutch Higher Education and Research Act)
  • Students from foreign universities
  • 5-HAVO and 6-VWO students from secondary schools in Tilburg

How does it work?

You go to the frontoffice of the Sports Center and prove that you belong to one of the above groups.

This can be done by logging into the digital study or work environment, or with a written proof of this. Also bring your identification. If everything is in order, the Front Office staff will create a sports account for you. Then you buy a sports subscription. This is only possible with a pin payment.
