Last examination before graduating rule TSB
During each academic year, there are two regular opportunities for students to complete a course. Students are expected to make use of these opportunities. In principle, an additional examination opportunity will only be granted in the context of the Last examination before graduating rule. Students of the Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (TSB) may, under certain conditions, be eligible for a Last examination before graduating.
The conditions for a Last examination before graduating read as follows:
- There must be only one course in the student's program that has not yet been completed, worth a maximum of 6 ects;
- The student must be at risk of suffering a disproportionately large study delay due to this last course;
- All previous regular examination opportunities of the yet to be obtained course (i.e. of the current academic year, but possibly also previous years) must have been used;
- No mark lower than 4 may be obtained for all those previous examinations.
The basis for the Last examination before graduating rule is laid down in the article on 'Periods and frequency of examinations' in the Education and Examination Regulations. The conditions are further defined in article 18 of the Rules and Guidelines of the Examination Boards of TSB.
In the case of proven special circumstances, the Examination Board may deviate from the last two conditions.
Exam and date
The examination within the framework of the Last examination before graduating for all courses is a written examination. Only if the regular examination has been held orally, the lecturer may determine that this examination will also be held orally. The examination covers the entire subject matter and the result replaces any partial results. For Bachelor's, Pre-master's and Covenant students, the Last examination before graduating will be scheduled on Wednesday August 16, 2023. For Master's students, in most cases, they can also participate in this central moment. Requests concerning courses from blocks 1 and 2 will have to be submitted no later than May 1, 2023. Requests concerning courses from blocks 3 and 4 will have to be submitted no later than July 14, 2023.
