What is a Numerus fixus selection procedure?

Numerus fixus means that there are a fixed number of spots for a program and a selection procedure is used by the educational institution. Those who apply for a numerus fixus program are placed on a ranking list. Your place on the ranking list is determined based on your average grade, your result for a knowledge test and possibly by your motivation letter.

Numerus fixus Psychology

For the academic year 2024-2025 a selection procedure (numerus fixus) applies. Because a numerus fixus applies, this may mean that not everyone who wants to study Psychology in Tilburg can be admitted.

  • There are 700 places available at Tilburg University. These places are divided between the Dutch- and English-language programs and there is no fixed number of places per language variant of the psychology program.
  • The allocation of the rank number goes according to the outcome of the selection procedure.
