Prior education - Verified

Prior education - Verified

Most Dutch diplomas are verified automatically using the DUO diploma register. Once this has taken place, this item might disappear from your To-do list without you having to take any further action. However, it is possible that (additional) documents are needed. International diplomas are not registered in the Dutch national diploma register and always need to be verified by the university.

Check the DUO diploma register

The prior education verification has not yet taken place or additional information is required in order to fulfill this To-Do item. This item “Prior education - Verified” disappears as soon as your prior education registered (by yourself) in Studielink has been verified (and is possibly admissible).

Enrollment in a Bachelor's program

For anyone applying for a bachelor’s program, Tilburg University must determine whether the Dutch or non-Dutch prior education meets the admission requirements.

I. Enrollment in a Bachelor's program with Dutch prior education

If the To-do item ‘prior education admissable’ is open, the prior education specified in Studielink is not yet sufficient and additional information is needed from you to fulfill this To-do item.

Most Dutch diplomas are verified automatically using the DUO diploma register. Once this has been done, this item will disappear from your To-do list without you having to take any further action if the prior education is admissible.

Possibly your diploma has not yet been registered in the DUO diploma register. In that case, you will need to submit an original graduation statement or certified copy of your diploma (if vwo including grade list) in order to complete your registration on time.

For bachelor's programs in economics and business and for the bachelor Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence your (verified) prior education may not meet the mathematics and/or English language requirement. You can find more information about this on the Application and admission requirements webpage of your program or on the webpage Enrollment in a Bachelor's program with Dutch prior education. If you have any questions, please contact the Student Desk.

Actions to be taken by student:

Submit an original graduation statement or certified copy of your vwo diploma or hbo propaedeutic certificate (if vwo including grade list) to the Student Desk. A copy of a graduation statement is not sufficient.

Please note:

For bachelor's programs in economics and business you may also need to submit a mathematics certificate to the Student Desk. More information about this can be found on the Application and admission webpage of the study program or on the webpage Enrollment in a Bachelor's program with Dutch prior education

For the Bachelor Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence, you may also need to provide a mathematics certificate and the result of an English language test. If you have a hbo propaedeutic certificate, submit a certified copy of your diploma or an original graduation statement, a mathematics certificate and the English language test result to the School. More information about this can be found on the  website of the study program or on the webpage Enrollment in a Bachelor's program with Dutch prior education.

How/where:

Deposit the required documents in the white mailbox of the Student Desk at the reception of Academia Building. You may also mail them to: Tilburg University, Student Desk A 301, PO Box 90153, 5000 LE Tilburg.

II. Enrollment in a Bachelor's program with non-Dutch prior education

If the To-do item ‘prior education admissable’ is open, a decision may still need to be issued on behalf of the Executive Board indicating that you have been admitted. This decision is issued once you have completed the application procedure and you meet all admission requirements.

Action to be taken by student:

Check whether you have completed the entire application procedure correctly. If you have any questions, please contact the International Admission Coordinator of your School. Once all the necessary steps have been taken, this item will disappear from your To-do list without you having to take any further action.
