Pilot of individual study spaces without reservation extended to April 10th
14th March 2024During the recent student sounding board meeting, the interim results of the pilot, which involves making individual study spaces accessible without reservation via LibCal, were evaluated. Thanks to a positive evaluation, it has been decided to extend the pilot until April 10, 2024, the date of the final evaluation of the pilot.

04th July 2023On June 9, The Enactus Netherlands National Exposition 2023 was held at the Mediaplaza Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Enactus Tilburg reached 3rd place during the Finals with their project Hobbee.

European Universities Alliance ENGAGE.EU receives follow-up grant
03rd July 2023The European Commission has announced that ENGAGE.EU is to receive a follow-up grant to the amount of € 14.4 million for further elaborating the mobility and collaboration among the nine participating European universities. The Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science supports Tilburg University’s efforts with an additional € 1 million.

Deprez building central place for entrepreneurship after the summer
30th June 2023Tilburg University is busy renovating Deprez building in Spoorzone in the Tilburg city center. From the start of the academic year 2023-2024, the building, which used to accommodate MindLabs, will be a central place for entrepreneurship.

'ENGAGE.EU made me even more ready for the next step in my career'

For Tilburg University, for the Dutch municipality of Tilburg and most of all for student Chiara Scalia. "ENGAGE.EU brought me the life lessons I need for my professional career," she says.

28th June 2023On Tuesday, July 4, 2023, the top floor (floor 2) of the library will be closed in the morning because solar panels will be installed on the roof.

New vending machines for hot and cold drinks and snacks on campus
27th June 2023A new tender is underway for vending machines for hot and cold drinks and snacks on the Tilburg University campus. On July 1, 2023, new vending machines will be installed in public spaces and in offices on the campus. This means that a few things will change for students and staff.

The Restaurant is closed for technical maintenance this summer
26th June 2023The Restaurant is closed for technical maintenance this summer, starting July 3. It will reopen its doors on Monday, August 28. In the meantime, you can use the catering facilities in CUBE.

No food in the Library from July 1, 2023
26th June 2023From Saturday, July 1, 2023, no food may be taken into the Library. This decision has been taken because of nuisance caused by mice and damage to equipment and furniture. Only lidded water bottles are allowed in the Library.

Thesis Award for research on cultural omnivores: “Cultural taste says a lot about your social position”
23rd June 2023Master’s student of Sociology Romy Oomens has won the Mens & Maatschappij Master’s Thesis Award with her study of the phenomenon of ‘cultural omnivorism’. Her study will be published in the academic journal of the same name. Romy investigated whether educational level and intergenerational mobility cause people to develop a more exclusive or, on the contrary, a broader cultural taste.

Work & Move: anti-RSI software has been extended
22nd June 2023Our contract with the supplier of Work & Move has recently been extended. The software tool WORK & MOVE that we offer to employees / students is the personal coach, which ensures sufficient variation between concentrated screen work and mental and physical exercise.

Tilburg University’s reaction to the Parliamentary debate on Internationalization
21st June 2023Dutch MPS are greatly worried about the fast growing numbers of international students studying in the Netherlands and the impact on, among other things, the availability of student accommodation and on Dutch as an academic language. Tilburg University wants to emphasize that our international community is a valued and integral part of our community. These developments do not affect current students or their programs.
