E-mail 'Register as a candidate for the University Council or School Council' can be considered secure
04th March 2024On Monday, March 11, an e-mail will be sent to all employees and students from the external party 'Het Stembureau' (voting application). This e-mail allows you to register as a candidate for the University Council or the School Council between March 11 and 13. Since this e-mail will be marked as ‘external’ in Outlook, and the sender is unknown, it might evoke some questions. We appreciate everyone’s awareness when it comes to (cyber) security risks, but want to inform you that this e-mail is genuine and safe to open.

More student housing available
22nd February 2024Tilburg University, together with the City of Tilburg and housing corporations, is committed to the realization of more student accommodation. We think it is a major priority that there is enough affordable housing to meet the needs of our students. We are pleased that more and more student housing is being completed so that students can start their studies and their lives in Tilburg. Some student accommodation is still available.

Tilburg University responds to ongoing internationalization debate
08th February 2024On February 8, Universiteiten van Nederland (universities of the Netherlands, UNL) published its “Package of measures for self-regulation: strengthening the Dutch language and managing the intake of international students”. At Tilburg University, the implementation of these measures will be worked out in cooperation with the Schools and the participation bodies.

Winners Tilburg University Challenge 2023
25th May 2023The 2023 Tilburg University Challenge was awarded on May 23 to three innovative business plans by student teams. During the finals, the Ideation Award went to Giulio Tosato, Cesare Maria Dalbagno and Francesco Fumagalli of BCI-magicians. The Business Ready Award went to Sven Correia of myTofu. The Audience Award was won by Krzysztof Trzebinski and Jakub Janczak of Thirsty Sustainable Clothing.

SSH signs Tilburg Student Housing Covenant
22nd May 2023Tilburg, May 22, 2023 - SSH Student Housing has signed the Student Accommodation Covenant of the City of Tilburg. Given the great shortage of student accommodation in Tilburg, SSH wants to realize hundreds of extra units for students. The focus will be on affordable student rooms.

Tilburg University response to BSA bill
17th May 2023Last week, Minister of Education Robbert Dijkgraaf announced his plans to modify the binding study advice (BSA). As of the academic year 2025-2026, students need only secure 30 out of 60 credits in their first year to be allowed to continue their studies. This effectively eases the BSA, and universities believe this move to be both undesirable and unwise.

Remembrance ceremony for students at Tilburg University’s war memorial
04th May 2023On the occasion of the Remembrance of the Dead on May 4, Marike Knoef, Dean of the Tilburg School Economics and Management, and Siebold Klasen, president of student association Sint Olof, laid flowers at the war memorial commemorating the twenty-two Tilburg students who lost their lives during the Second World War.

22 students who fell during the occupation
01st May 202322 places in the lecture halls of the Roman Catholic Business School remained empty after the Second World War. 22 students who had fallen victim to the Nazi regime as a result of resisting, being shot or dying from exhaustion and illness. In 1945, after the liberation, the Tilburg Tilburg St Olof Student Association honored them with a commemorative booklet: In Memoriam Fratrum.
